"Breakfast like a King" is the old adage......and at Arnot House we aim to provide a substantial first meal of the day.   Breakfast is served from 8am to 9am each morning in the red dining room at the front of the house.

We have a self serve buffet with juices, various cereals, yogurts, stewed fruit, fresh fruit, dried fruits and cheeses - all set out on the Victorian sideboard at breakfast time.  Freshly brewed ground coffee, tea, or fruit and herbal teas are served along with white or granary toast and various preserves, and we always have a tempting baked goodie to accompany the toast such as muffins, scones, tea bread or flapjacks.  

Traditional Yorkshire breakfasts are cooked to order on our claret coloured Aga - a range cooker which tends to be a more healthy way of cooking. So if you wish, you can follow your buffet helpings with the "Full English" - egg, sausage, bacon, tomato, fried bread and black pudding, or scrambled eggs and bacon, a meat free veggie cooked breakfast or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon . 

All our breakfast items are sourced as locally as possible.  We buy our fruit, mushrooms and tomatoes in Newgate Market in the centre of York, our bacon and freshly made pork sausages are from M and K Butchers in Bishopthorpe Road and our lovely brown free range eggs are from Browns Farm near Pickering.
